i don't think that's the the presidential candidate mitt romney had in mind when he wanted to say states have rights. what about the city's rights to elect their own elected officials? and help do they own? when you say government interference, i understand you were talking about the federal government, but i heard mitt romney say that states' rights, is it the rights of the state's coming into the cities to overthrow the local municipalities? if that's a big government, small government, i don't know, is it controlled government? i think they have a right to control their own destiny in their own city. so the public is on the ballot in november, and i am turning everybody in michigan to vote down. we don't need dictatorship. it is a dictated view. >> host: thanks so much on the mall of the government in relation to the city and its relationship with federal government. and detroit. swb writes the government should do its job and maintain the general welfare. from debate news the numbers are in on how many people watched on television. more than 600 million watched the debate in this ele

we had a chance to talk about the presidential race and if you look at the polls between governor romney and obama it looks as though pennsylvania once again is going to be blue and the democrats will win the top of the tick but it's interesting you mention the statewide race because you see a lot in pennsylvania that are going to look at the republican run legislature and say you will not private pass this law, you got through march, tried to jam us through the courts, you were hoping you would get it into the court to stay in effect for 2012. now that it's been struck down, you may have and in power and invigorated voting base particularly in philadelphia and pittsburgh where the majority of the blue power of the state is based, so you may see an actual legislature not necessarily the presidential race to be affected but the state legislature now from being republican to democratic which would lead to having a republican governor and a democratic legislature for the next two years going into their gubernatorial race and that is what is interesting it's not just the top of the stick to

if romney wins or the vice presidential candidate he will have the mandate for some version of the budget probably tempered a little bit to get some democratic votes but if he becomes president he will have a mandate for something close to that and either way we will get a big deal plus the pressure of the debt limit and other things in the markets out there. i think 2013 becomes a big entitlement reform tax reform budget reform moment. it does mean and this gets to john's point there will be an amazing pettit november 7th and suddenly the campaign will be over and president obama has to say a lot of people voted for him guess what we are in the entitlement reform and all that stuff i said about how mitt romney is going to destroy america suddenly we are going to be doing something wildly different from some of the reforms the republicans talked about and of course romney is going to have the same problem in the campaign to his credit the romney transition team led by the predecessor is actually working pretty seriously on what they would have to do. but the disconnect i don't know if it
